Our Lady's Mountain
Last updated 2026-10-08 — Highlights In the ninth year of the Republic of China (Gengshen 1920), Father Joseph from the Paris Foreign Missions Society in France purchased over 48,000 square meters of mountain land and built the Grotto of Our Lady and a church. All were destroyed during the “Ten Years of Catastrophe.” In 1986, Bishop John Li of the Jilin Diocese, following the example of Father Joseph, used all his savings for the restoration of the site and the organization of the Our Lady’s Fair. During the fair, worshippers—both men and women—come here to offer incense and sacrifices, set up tents, and stage plays, creating a lively atmosphere.
