Mopan Mountain, also known as Little Mopan Mountain, is located in Wangxiang Village, Qian'erdao Township, Fengman District. It is 15 kilometers from the city center and covers a total area of 10 square kilometers. The summit of Mopan Mountain resembles a grinding millstone, hence its name. The mountain runs from north to south, with its northern and southern peaks standing opposite each other — the southern side forms a long peak, while the northern side is sharp and pointed. The main peak on the north side has an elevation of 783.8 meters. Mopan Mountain features steep slopes, uniquely shaped peaks, picturesque rocks, and dense forests. It is often frequented by wildlife such as wolves, snakes, foxes, pheasants, and grouse. The area is rich in diverse flora and fauna, including kiwifruit, wild grapes, crabapples, walnuts, Northeast China Arisaema, bracken, hazel mushrooms, schisandra berries, phellodendron, Arnebia euchroma, boneset herb, cocklebur, balloon flower, and yam. Within the rocky outcrops on the mountainside, there are also natural caves such as the Dripping Water Cave and the Fox Fairy Cave. The mountain is home to the Buddhist temple Wandeshi. It boasts both beautiful legends and a history of flourishing religious activity dating back to the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
