Here, lush green hills roll, the countryside is picturesque, the village culture is simple, and the people are hardworking. Every spring, amid one hundred thousand acres of yellow peach trees, pink blossoms glow against the landscape, petals flutter to the ground, clear waters emit fragrance, and birds leave their traces. Dafo Temple, Ba People’s Cave, Flower-Viewing Pavilion, Twin Peach Stone… each scenic spot tells a beautiful legend. Southeast Peach Blossom Village serves as a new rural ecological community and rural tourism base in Taihe Town. Here, you can admire peach blossoms, pick fruit, listen to legends, search for pheasants, fish in ponds, and enjoy farmhouse meals—fully immersing yourself in the leisurely, idyllic rural life reminiscent of Tao Yuanming’s era, where the sounds of chickens and dogs fill the air.
Currently, over 600 acres of contiguous peach orchards have been established, with more than 37,000 mature peach trees, producing over 200,000 kilograms of high-quality peaches annually. It is the only premium yellow peach production base in our district. Last winter and this spring, with strong support from the District Agricultural Office, Agriculture Bureau, and Water Resources Bureau, Southeast Village secured water conservation and drinking water projects. Efforts are underway to build reservoirs, irrigation and drainage ditches, level and improve land, and utilize rural roads, footpaths, and water conservation projects to pave branch roads within the orchards. These efforts will create well-connected, production-friendly, and scenic walking paths throughout the peach orchards. A pond is also being constructed to support the breeding of both fishing and ornamental fish. Additionally, the facades of farmhouses will be renovated, and murals depicting peach blossom stories will be created on natural rock faces. A collection of legends and tales related to peach blossoms will be gathered and compiled to enrich the cultural essence of “Southeast Peach Blossom Village,” fostering a profound peach orchard culture. Grape arbors will be built along the village’s branch roads. Utilizing spaces around farmhouse residences and courtyards, grape trellises will be erected to grow grapes, osmanthus, Michelia champaca, and lawns, beautifying the home environment. Weeping willows will be planted around the pond, and rapeseed flowers will be grown on mountainside clearings to complement the peach blossoms, creating stunning autumn scenery at the Peach Blossom Village. Six farmhouse inns will also be developed, forming a complete rural tourism chain that includes admiring peach blossoms, picking fruit, listening to stories, hunting pheasants, fishing in ponds, and enjoying farmhouse meals.
