Hainan keteleeria is a species unique to China and has not been found in any other regions to date. Its distribution area is extremely limited, with only scattered occurrences in the mountainous rainforests at around 1,000 meters above sea level in Bawangling, Hainan. In the upper slopes of Yajia Ridge within the park, at an altitude of about 1,100 meters, a King of Keteleeria was discovered. This tree stands 32 meters tall, with a trunk diameter of 230 centimeters and a crown diameter of about 20 meters. It is over 600 years old.
