Madu Pass Stone Forest Scenic Area

　　The Madu Pass Stone Forest Scenic Area is located at the junction of Xuanhan County, Pingchang County, and Tongchuan District, about 48 kilometers from Xuanhan County town. The scenic area features remarkably unique natural landscapes and is known as the "Little Guilin of Eastern Sichuan." Within the stone forest, trees grow among rocks and flowers bloom on stones—spectacles that leave visitors in awe. Walking into the Old Forest Gorge, you’ll find winding ancient paths, towering trees, and ever-changing scenery around every corner, as if stepping into a different world. The ten-mile-long beach presents vast misty waters so clear they mirror the surroundings, creating a scene straight out of a painting. Madu is also recognized as the "Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art," the "Hometown of Folk (Characteristic) Culture," and the "Hometown of Eastern Sichuan Folk Songs." It is the birthplace of Li Yiruo, the author of the song "Kangding Love Song," and in 2016, it was successfully inscribed on the heritage list as part of the "Third Batch of Natural and Cultural Heritage Sites of Sichuan Province."
