Shiping Village, Tangxi Town

　　Shiping Village in Tangxi Town, Wucheng District, Jinhua City, is an ancient village influenced by Huizhou-style architecture, with a history of over 700 years. It currently preserves eight relatively intact halls from the Ming and Qing dynasties, along with a total of more than 1,000 ancient residential houses. Its Huizhou-style architecture is considered the most authentic, largest in scale, and best preserved among ancient villages in Zhejiang Province. It has been designated as a “Historical and Cultural Village” by the Wucheng District Government of Jinhua City.

　　The facades of each ancient building in Shiping Village are inlaid with thousands of brick carvings—featuring birds, beasts, flowers, insects, fish, and illustrations of opera scenes. The patterns are exquisitely designed, with fine carving craftsmanship, smooth and graceful lines. The unique carving artistry is truly exceptional. In the process of new rural development, the village cadres of Shiping have demonstrated a strong awareness of cultural preservation. On the basis of village renovation, they have strengthened the conservation of cultural relics. Today, Shiping Village boasts a modern leisure plaza for farmers, ornamental lotus ponds, and classical-style corridors, adding sparkling highlights to this ancient village that has endured a thousand years of wind and dust.

　　The village has been honored for several consecutive years with titles such as “Zhejiang Province Comprehensive Well-Off Demonstration Village,” “Zhejiang Province Greening Village,” and “Jinhua City Characteristic Agritainment Village.”
