Murray Lagoon
Murray Lagoon is situated on Kangaroo Island in South Australia and is the island’s largest freshwater lake. The lake enjoys a peaceful environment and is covered with a large amount of reeds and other aquatic plants, providing an excellent wetland habitat for birds. A wide variety of bird species live near Murray Lagoon, making it a paradise and haven for avian life.

Groups of pelicans can be seen on the lake, playing carefreely, diving into the water and then quickly resurfacing, seemingly never tiring of the activity. The wild ducks and swans swimming in the lake, the birds flying in the sky, and the pelicans resting along the shore all contribute to making Murray Lagoon the most renowned bird-watching destination on Kangaroo Island.
