The Xiaojia Dam Site is situated on the terrace of the northern bank of the Lan River, south of Xiaojia Dam in Erba Village, Chengguan Town, Langao County, and dates back to the Neolithic Age. The site is surrounded by the Lan River on the northwest, southwest, and south sides, and borders a gentle slope on the east. The terrain is flat, covering an area of approximately 150,000 square meters, with a cultural layer 1–2 meters thick. In 1981, archaeological excavations were carried out here. Collected pottery fragments include sand-tempered red pottery and clay red and gray pottery, decorated with cord marks, incised patterns, string patterns, appliqué, and white-on-black painted designs. Identifiable vessel shapes include bowls, basins, jars, tripods, pointed-bottom bottles, and gourd-shaped artifacts. Also unearthed were intact clay gray-white round-bottomed bowls, as well as chipped and polished stone tools such as axes, spades, net sinkers, stone cores, and whetstones. These findings belong to the Yangshao Culture remains. Han Dynasty rope-patterned roof tiles and tubular tiles, Tang Dynasty hand-printed bricks, bronze hammers, and Yuan Dynasty zoomorphic tile ends were also discovered. All unearthed relics are currently preserved in the cultural relics storage room of the Langao County Cultural Center. In 1992, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit. Nowadays, most of the site area is occupied by modern buildings, with only about 2,300 square meters remaining as the main artifact collection area.
