Tangier

Tangier (Tangier) is an ancient city and seaport in northern Morocco, the capital of Tangier Province, and the country’s largest tourism hub, with a population of about 310,000. Located at the mouth of the Bay of Tangier in the Strait of Gibraltar, it sits at 35.7 degrees north latitude and 5.9 degrees west longitude, just 11 to 15 kilometers from the Eurasian continent, and lies at the crossroads of world transport. Ships entering the Mediterranean from the east or exiting the Atlantic from the west must pass by or dock here, and vessels traveling north-south along the eastern coast of the Atlantic also adjust their courses in this area, giving it significant strategic importance as a historically contested military location. Tangier is known as an “international zone,” where all kinds of unusual things can happen. Although it no longer solely emphasizes pleasure as its top priority, its legendary allure remains enduring. The nightlife here is vibrant and diverse, and the streets are filled with people from all over the world. Its world-renowned cultural atmosphere has attracted many artists, including the famous Rolling Stones.
