Xinzhou Buddha Spring
From Xinzhou Town in Yangdong, drive about 5 kilometers along the Xinwen Highway. Look to the left, and you’ll see layers of white mist rising from the low-lying fields. This is neither cooking smoke nor clouds — it’s the steam emitted by the nearby famous boiling springs. Amidst the mist, you’ll spot pavilions and towers with red walls and green tiles nestled among flowers and trees, creating a fairy-tale-like scene.

The water here at “Boiling Spring” is truly boiling, with ground temperatures reaching up to 102°C. Visitors to this spot often bring a bag of eggs to soak in the hot water. In just a few minutes, you can enjoy these uniquely boiled eggs. Just be careful not to place them too close to the spring’s eye — otherwise, nine out of ten eggs will crack due to the extreme heat. It's better to place them a bit farther away from the source.

Xinzhou Boiling Springs has over 50 springs and is classified as a medium-sized high-temperature hot water field. The daily flow of hot water exceeds 3,000 cubic meters, with an average temperature of 95.5°C and a maximum of 102°C. The temperature below the surface is even higher. It is one of the high-temperature hot water fields identified in Guangdong Province. The site offers comfortable hot spring baths and spacious heated swimming pools. The mineral-rich waters contain nitrogen that is effective in treating chronic arthritis, skin diseases, cardiovascular issues, and in regulating the nervous system.
