The North Yangcheng Brick Pagoda (Fourth Batch of Provincial Protected Sites)

According to the inscriptions on the stone Buddha embedded in the pagoda, it was built by Xie Wu, a villager from Beiyangcheng, for his mother as an act of filial piety, and constructed in the second year of the Baoyuan era of the Northern Song Dynasty (1039 AD). The pagoda is a seven-tiered square brick structure, standing 5 meters tall. The base of the pagoda houses an embedded stone statue of Sakyamuni. Each of the upper tiers features corbelled eaves.
