Xinzhou Boiling Spring Resort

  I. Geographic Location

The Xinzhou Boiling Spring Resort is situated in the southeast of Yangdong County. It lies 18 kilometers north of National Highway 325, 17 kilometers east of Beidou Town in Taishan City, 5 kilometers from Xinzhou Township, and 30 kilometers from Dongping Fishing Port. The Western Guangdong Coastal Expressway runs through Xinzhou and has an interchange within Xinzhou Town. The resort is only 2.6 kilometers away from this interchange and 20 kilometers from the Dongping exit of the Western Guangdong Coastal Expressway. It enjoys convenient transportation and also serves as the junction between the Donghu Resort Area and the Dongping Pearl Bay Seaside Bathing Beach.

II. Natural Conditions of the Xinzhou Boiling Spring Resort

Surrounded by mountains and boasting beautiful surroundings, lush greenery, clear waters, and fresh air, the Xinzhou Boiling Spring Resort is an ideal destination for vacationing.

Starting from Xinzhou Town in Yangdong County and traveling about 5 kilometers along the Xinwen Highway, if you look to the left, you will see layers of white mist rising from the low-lying fields. Amid the mist, pavilions and red-walled, green-tiled buildings appear and disappear among flowers and trees, set against the backdrop of the mountain ranges—like a fairyland on earth. This mist is actually the steam evaporating from the famed boiling springs.

This rare mist phenomenon is related to the water temperature. Surveys indicate that there are 85 natural spring eyes, classified as high-temperature mineral water, which emerge in the form of fountains in the marshy areas of mountain valley depressions. The total flow rate is 614 liters per second, with the central spring having a daily natural discharge of 1,959 cubic meters. Under interference conditions, the actual pumped volume reaches 3,671 cubic meters per day. The average water temperature is 95.5°C, and during exploration, the self-flowing water temperature reached 101°C, while beneath the surface it soared to 104°C (at the central spring)—currently the largest known high-temperature thermal field in Guangdong Province (renowned as the Boiling Spring). After drilling the central spring, hot water naturally sprays up to 48 meters above the ground. The underground hot water in this thermal field is colorless, transparent, with a slightly salty taste, and commonly features water chemical precipitates. Its hydrochemical type is sodium chloride. The hot water contains levels of fluorine, sulfur, nitrite, and radon that meet the standards for medical mineral springs. It has therapeutic effects on chronic arthritis, skin diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and helps regulate the nervous system. It is of the same type as the renowned Conghua Hot Springs in Guangdong, and its medicinal value is comparable, though its higher temperature and greater water volume surpass those of Conghua. Moreover, the Xinzhou geothermal field features silica sinter formations on the surface—the only such geothermal field discovered in Guangdong to date—which also indicates the potential presence of high-temperature hot water deeper underground.

III. Development of the Xinzhou Boiling Spring Resort

The Boiling Spring Resort was first built in 1993 as a privately owned venture. It features hot spring baths, sauna rooms, open-air boiling spring pools, boiling spring cauldrons, a physiotherapy center, dance halls, meeting rooms, holiday villas, and freshwater fish farms. The facilities are comprehensive and the service is considerate, providing visitors with a relaxing, pleasant, and healthy vacation environment. Here, you’ll find comfortable hot spring baths and spacious heated swimming pools. The mineral water contains nitrogen, which offers therapeutic benefits for chronic arthritis, skin diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and helps regulate the nervous system.

Visitors here often bring a bag of eggs, soak them in the hot water for a few minutes, and then enjoy these uniquely boiled eggs.
