Tianshan Slope
Tianshan Slope, according to the *Fushun County Annals*, was originally named Jian Mountain Slope. Legend has it that a fairy descended to Jian Mountain Slope to subdue demons and eliminate evils, and thus was called by the locals "Tianshan Slope." This scenic area is located among Qifeng Township, Doushan Town, Maoqiao Township, and Anxi Town in Fushun County, Fushun, situated within the angle formed by Sichuan-Yunnan Middle Road and Luzhou-Zigong Road. It is also the junction of the three cities: Zigong, Yibin, and Luzhou.

Tianshan Slope is the only large-scale karst scenic area in Fushun County, Fushun City, with a diameter of nine kilometers. The area features numerous caves, inside which can be found a variety of secondary chemical sedimentary formations (i.e., stalactite-like structures) that display diverse and bizarre shapes. The three highest peaks (namely Tianshan Slope, Zhongshan, and Yunpan Mountain) all have an elevation of 597

meters, and the three mountains together form a penholder-like shape.

Around the 15th century, approximately 32 temples were built in this area. The scenic zone now includes forests of nanmu, landscape woods, loquat orchards, honey pomelo woods, and prickly ash woods. Planned developments include: an observation tower, sightseeing pavilions, cash crop gardens, amusement parks, integrating towers, pavilions, gardens, and villages; a holiday resort; and the phased development of caves such as Xian’e Cave, Shenxian Cave, and Jiulong Cave.
