The lifestyle and customs of the Baima people are intricately linked to the cultures of the Tibetan, Qiang, and Han ethnic groups. The formation of Baima folklore is greatly influenced by the geographical features of the Baima people’s settlements and the impact of surrounding ethnic groups on the development of their traditions. This article attempts to provide a theoretical definition of the formation of Baima folklore through a field investigation of Boyu Village in Gannan Prefecture, Gansu Province, examining its regional, cultural, religious, and customary aspects.
