The Ten-Thousand-Mu Sightseeing Tea Garden is located in Zaoyuan Village, Shahe Town, with a planned total area of 2 square kilometers. It consists of four major parts: the Wuzi Green Tea Company’s ecological tea garden, the Northwest A&F University Science and Technology Demonstration Base, Zaoyuan Lake Park, and the under-construction Zaoyuan Lakeside Ecological Sightseeing and Leisure Tea Garden (core area). The garden is 10 kilometers west of the county town, accessible via National Highway 316, the Yangping Railway, and the soon-to-be-built Shiyan-Tianshui Expressway, offering convenient transportation and a prime location.
In accordance with
the planning concept of “a prominent theme, distinctive features, elegant taste, and being a unique highlight of the northwest,” as well as the construction goal of “excellent ecological environment, beautiful landscape, rich cultural atmosphere, comprehensive service functions, and a destination for tourists,” the Ten-Thousand-Mu Ecological Sightseeing Tea Garden will offer the following functions upon completion: First, ecological tea garden sightseeing — developing a modern ecological sightseeing tea garden with high-quality varieties, advanced technology, spectacular views, and a beautiful environment, harmoniously integrating the tea plantation with the surrounding natural mountain and water scenery, allowing visitors to admire the lush green waves of tea bushes, shaded by trees, and the majestic views of green mountains and clear waters. Second, leisure services — creating viewing, leisure, and entertainment areas in the style of Jiangnan water town gardens, where visitors can stroll through the scenic beauty, enjoy tea at their leisure, and relax and have fun. Third, demonstrative tea processing and display — constructing transparent and clean tea production and processing workshops where finished teas are produced, enabling visitors to directly observe the modern tea processing procedures while sightseeing and enjoying leisure activities, and experience the joy of tea picking and processing. Fourth, promoting Han tea culture and history — using both static exhibits and dynamic participatory activities to fully showcase the unique tea history and tea ceremony culture, allowing visitors to enjoy wonderful tea art performances, and experience the pleasure of returning to nature amidst the beautiful natural ecology and profound cultural ambiance.
