Beijing Olympic Basketball Gymnasium
It marks an important milestone in Beijing’s preparations for the Olympics, signifying the steady and active progress of the city’s Olympic venue construction. After the Games, it will primarily host basketball competitions, with consideration given to accommodating various major domestic and international basketball events.
As the largest Olympic venue in western Beijing, the Beijing Olympic Basketball Gymnasium is a modern, multi-functional comprehensive arena with advanced design and complete facilities. After the Olympics, it can be used for various large-scale sports events and cultural performances.
Wukesong Sports Arena will become one of the few competition venues in China designed exclusively for basketball. This feature is reflected in multiple aspects, including the court, stands, and players’ locker rooms.
Most notably, Wukesong Sports Arena plans to draw on the strengths of NBA arenas in the United States by installing multiple large screens onsite, helping to create an electrifying game atmosphere.
As one of the most advanced sports venues in China, Wukesong Sports Arena offers a variety of uses. It can host major competitions in basketball, badminton, table tennis, handball, and other sports, as well as large-scale cultural performances. It also allows for naming rights by well-known enterprises and individuals.
After the Olympic Games, the arena will be fully operated by its owner, Beijing Wukesong Culture and Sports Center Co., Ltd. The company plans to collaborate with internationally renowned venue operators to ensure the optimal post-Games use of Wukesong Sports Arena.
