Madian Park is situated in the northwest corner of Madian Bridge on the North Third Ring Road in Beijing. It borders the Badaling Expressway to the east, Guanchengyuan Residential Area to the west, Beisanhuan Middle Road to the south, and Beitu Cheng West Road to the north. The planned site stretches 700 meters from north to south and 80–160 meters from east to west, covering a total area of 8.6 hectares. It is the largest sports-themed recreational park near the Third Ring Road. Completed in 2003, the park features multiple activity areas including a central dynamic square, a waterside plaza, Happy Valley, a fun activities zone, an open activity zone, and a fitness equipment zone.

Construction of the park began in August 2003, and it officially opened to the public on April 28, 2004, free of charge.

The design of Madian Park emphasizes a people-oriented approach and a green environment, integrating landscapes with activity spaces. It preserves a space where humans and nature coexist, providing residents nearby with a green area for sports, leisure, and fitness. The design strives to blend functionality with aesthetics, merging “sports” into “nature” to create a modern recreational space that is “green and healthy” for the public.
