The beach in Aodi Fishing Village is one of the few remaining sandy coastal landscapes — small but beautiful — making it a popular spot for swimming and playing in the water during summer. Nearby, the Octopus Swimming Pool also provides a place for those who prefer not to swim to enjoy the water.

The sunrise in summer is a rare and stunning coastal spectacle. Sit by the shore, listen to the sound of the waves, and admire the radiant colors of the sky — it’s truly refreshing. The coastal reefs, shaped over years by the erosion of seawater, form unique formations well worth close observation and appreciation.

Within this enclosed bicycle sightseeing trail, you can safely stroll, jog, or cycle at your leisure, enjoying the refreshing sea breeze. As the trail runs alongside the coastal road and is nestled between mountains and sea, you can gaze across the vast blue waters to distant Keelung Islet and watch cargo ships sailing by.

From the parking area near the trail, a small path leads to the seaside where you can go fishing. Sit by the shore, listen to the powerful sound of the waves, and observe how the coastal reefs have been sculpted into various unique shapes by years of wave erosion. You can also head to Aodi Fishing Village to swim or play in the water.

If you have time, energy, and want to get some exercise, you can also explore the Zhongshan Canyon Forest Ancient Trail next to the trail’s parking area near the mountains — a round trip takes about 40 to 60 minutes. Alternatively, you can walk the Wenxing Forest Trail located at the end of the main trail, near the Tudigong Temple. This 950-meter trail takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, leading you to the Lover’s Lake Viewing Platform at the trail’s end — the best spot to take in panoramic views of the West Coast Highway and the seascape around Outer Wood Mountain Fishing Harbor.
