Yuxing Mountain Reservoir

　　Yuxing Mountain Reservoir is a medium-sized reservoir located two kilometers east of Cangshuipu Town, on the south side of National Highway 319, 58 kilometers east of Changsha City and 25 kilometers west of Yiyang City. It was first built in the early 1960s and was named after a nearby green mountain that resembles a leaping carp with its head raised and tail swaying.

　　Covering a total area of over 4,200 acres, Yuxing Mountain Reservoir has a perennial water storage capacity of 25 million cubic meters. The lake’s crystal-clear waters are emerald green, encircled by lush green mountains. Small islands in the reservoir stand gracefully, offering unique and scenic views, while numerous coves and inlets are scattered across the lake—making it a highly charming tourist destination. Centered around the reservoir dam, recreational activities such as speedboat lake tours, lakeside fishing, summer swimming, and bamboo raft rowing are available. On the water, there is also a lakeside entertainment complex designed like a pavilion, where visitors can take small boats or speedboats to enter the complex, fish for live fish, stay in waterside pavilions, listen to music under the moonlight, drink fine wine, and enjoy fresh fish—all of which bring immense joy. Among the green trees around the reservoir, various uniquely styled villas and leisure resorts have been built, adding colorful charm to the reservoir's lush green waters and mountains.
