Fujian Zhangzhou National Geopark
Fujian Zhangzhou Coastal Volcano National Geopark is situated in the coastal regions of Zhangpu County and Longhai County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, with a total area of 318.64 square kilometers. Its primary geological heritage consists of volcanic landforms.

The basalt formed from volcanic eruptions over thousands of years has created typical volcanic landform landscapes. The eruption sequence is clear, with well-preserved and typical volcanic craters. There are rare rootless fumarole clusters, vesicular column clusters, and columnar jointing formations made up of 1.4 million massive hexagonal basalt columns. The area also features various marine erosion landforms, multiple high-quality beaches, as well as carbonized wood layers from ancient forests dating back 8,000 years. It is an extremely valuable volcanic geological site that holds significant scientific value for studying the developmental history of the West Pacific volcanic belt. At the same time, it serves as an important destination for tourism, vacationing, and science education.

Cultural Landscapes: The geopark also includes notable cultural sites such as the Zhao Family Fortress and the Tomb of Huang Daozhou. Its proximity to Xiamen and convenient transportation provide favorable conditions for the development of the geopark. (Information provided by the Ministry of Natural Resources)
