The First Crossing of the Long March
Yudu was one of the starting points of the Long March. The Yudu River (also known as the Gong River) was the first major river that the Red Army had to cross at the beginning of the march. At the time, there was not a single bridge over the river. The people of Yudu built pontoon bridges and operated ferries. Between the evening of October 16 and 19, 1934, a total of 87,000 people crossed the Yudu River and embarked on the long journey of the Long March, opening a new chapter in the nation's history.

Today, the monument inscribed with “The First Central Red Army Crossing of the Long March” standing tall in the Crossing Square still allows visitors to sense the awe-inspiring scene of those days.

  Address: Yudu County, Ganzhou City
