Baisha Ciji Palace
Baisha Ciji Palace is situated in Baisha Village, Jiaomei Town, Longhai City. It was originally constructed in the 20th year of the Shaoxing era during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Southern Song Dynasty (1150 AD) as another temple dedicated to Wu Tao, a renowned physician of the Northern Song Dynasty. This palace-style temple complex consists of three courtyards, covering a total area of 1,300 square meters. The entire structure follows the contour of the mountain, featuring interlocking upturned eaves and a magnificent design. The dragon pillars, bracket sets, and painted gold embellishments within the halls showcase the pinnacle of architectural, painting, sculpture, and calligraphy arts from various dynasties after the Song, earning it the well-deserved reputation as the “Forbidden City of Southern Fujian.”
Baisha Ciji Palace is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
