The construction of the Anqing Yangtze River Bridge set four national records: the shortest time from selecting the construction contractor to launching the first steel cofferdam—just 22 days; the shortest period from launching the first steel cofferdam to setting it on the riverbed and sealing the base—only 80 working days; the highest precision in setting the steel cofferdam on the rock (1/660), surpassing the design specification by 6.6 times; and the longest zero-accident safety record maintained during the construction of similar bridges nationwide.
The Anqing Yangtze River Bridge serves as an intersection point for the Anhui section of the Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway, the Yangtze River Alongside Expressway, and the Dongying-Hong Kong Expressway. Since then, Anqing, this historic and cultural city, has gained northward, eastward, and southward access to sea routes, strengthening its economic ties with the Bohai Rim region, the Yangtze River Delta, the southeastern Fujian area, and the Pearl River Delta, thus paving new broad pathways for the city’s development.
