Jiufeng Mountain Scenic Area
The Jiufeng Mountain Eco-Tourism Resort spans 3.5 square kilometers, with elevations between 330 and 580 meters, and is divided into three sections: the Thousand-Mu Pear Blossom Mountain, the Century-Old Pear Orchard, and the Jiufeng Yaochi (Jade Lake). The Century-Old Pear Orchard features 81 pear trees over 120 years old, making it the most concentrated and largest ancient pear tree cluster discovered in Chongqing to date. Yaochi, renowned as the "Little Jiuzhaigou," is dotted among the woods, with mirror-like, crystal-clear waters that change colors with the seasons throughout the year.

Major Attractions in the Scenic Area

  Three Hundred Steps Snow Sea

Named after the stone-paved staircase of Three Hundred Steps, this attraction covers an area of over 300 mu and represents the essence of the Thousand-Mu Pear Blossom Mountain. Tuanshan Fort, the highest point in the area, offers panoramic views: the Snow Sea to the east, a utopian paradise to the south, a cluster of pagodas and peaks to the west, and is an excellent spot for sightseeing and photography.

  Ancient Stockade Pear Orchard

Located at the northern end of Pear Blossom Mountain, the Ancient Stockade Pear Orchard derives its name from an ancient stockade dating back to the Qing Dynasty. The original stockade covered over 30 mu and featured 3-meter-high walls and four gates. The area is densely planted with pear trees, which turn the slopes snow-white in spring, adding vibrant life to the landscape. From the top of the stockade, visitors can enjoy wide views: Yaochi’s scenic peaks and the Century-Old Pear Orchard to the west, Hailanyuntian to the south, Lotus Lake to the north, and Fengchi Flower Terrace to the east.

  Utopia

Nestled in the southern valley of Pear Blossom Mountain, Utopia spans over 120 mu. To its west lies Jinyun Mountain, and to its east, Zhaishanping, with peach trees covering the hills and plum trees dotting the slopes.

  Century-Old Pear Orchard

Situated in Huangjiawan, the Century-Old Pear Orchard covers more than 100 mu, with a core protected area of 58 mu. It is home to 81 pear trees over 120 years old, forming the most concentrated and numerous ancient pear tree group discovered in Chongqing. The “Pear Tree King” and “Spring Back to a Dead Tree” are hailed as the “twin wonders” of the orchard.

  Jiufeng Yaochi

Jiufeng Yaochi is a subtropical low-mountain forest wetland, consisting of nine colorful pools scattered across the mountains, with an average elevation of 450 meters. The main pools include Golden Phoenix Pool, Dragon-Phoenix Pool, Coming Phoenix Pool, Red Phoenix Pool, and Silver Phoenix Pool. Each lake features a unique environment and distinct shape, with crystal-clear, azure water resembling jade. They are also known as the “Colorful Yaochi” and the “Little Jiuzhaigou.”

  Lion Peak Ancient Stockade

Located at the highest point of the Baita Ping Forest Park, Lion Peak Stockade was built during the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty, at an elevation of 646 meters. Current attractions include the ruins of the Lion Peak Stockade walls and a fire watchtower. The surviving east gate and over 1,000 meters of remaining wall feature inscriptions such as “The Second Month of the Tenth Year of Xianfeng in the Great Qing” on the arch of the gate.

  Blooming Stone Lotuses

Located on the cliffs of the southern slope of Yuntai Mountain in Baita Ping Forest Park, Blooming Stone Lotuses consist of seven exposed rock formations. From afar, they resemble Buddha faces; up close, they look like flower buds.
