Hongqi Canal Youth Cave

Hongqi Canal Youth Cave
Youth Cave is situated in the western part of Linzhou City, Anyang, Henan Province, and is one of the main components of the Hongqi Canal’s main channel. It goes right through the face of what looks like a miraculously shaped, steep cliff resembling a “little devil’s face.” The tunnel was named “Youth Cave” because the strike team that excavated it consisted of 300 outstanding young workers selected from among all the laborers in the county.

By driving 30 kilometers uphill from the Fen Shui Yuan Scenic Area, you will reach the Youth Cave Scenic Area. With towering mountains and perilous roads, the Hongqi Canal hangs off the majestic and steep cliffs of the Taihang Mountains, giving you a full sense of the endless poetic beauty of this “man-made heavenly river.” The main attraction, Youth Cave, is carved into the rock face and runs right through the mountain, presenting a grand and magnificent scene. It encapsulates the “majestic, perilous, strange, and beautiful” features of the Taihang landscape, all within view. The breathtaking panorama fills your sight, leaving you astonished and filled with nothing but admiration...
