Peijie Site (Fourth Batch of Provincial Protected Sites)

Period: Neolithic Age – Shang Dynasty

Address: Peijie Village, Peijie Town, Xia County

The site is situated on the terraces on both sides of the “Lu River” in Peijie Village, with a cultural layer 2–3 meters thick. The site covers an area of approximately 360,000 square meters and is an ancient cultural site dating from the Yangshao Culture to the Shang Dynasty. In 2001, an excavation was carried out on a Shang Dynasty pottery kiln site. Artifacts unearthed include pottery li tripods, bowls, flared-rim jars, large-mouthed zun vessels, urns, jars, and basins.

Peijie Site is a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit.
