Cuijiahe Tombs (Sixth Batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units)
Era: Zhou Dynasty
Address: Northeast of Cuijiahe Village, Nianzhang Town, Xia County, on the hills between the Nianzhang River and the Qinglong
River Gorge
The tomb complex borders Cuijiahe Reservoir to the east, the Dongxiafeng Site to the north, the Nianzhang River to the west, and the Cuijiahe Site to the south. Covering an area of 125,000 square meters, the site mainly features vertical pit tombs. Burial objects primarily include bronze tripods, dou (food vessels), and hu (wine vessels), along with bronze chime bells, ge (dagger-axes), fu (?, possibly ritual implements), fang (?, possibly vessels), stone chimes, jade artifacts, bone gui (ritual scepters), as well as copper, stone, and bone shells used as currency, in addition to jade ornaments. The decorative patterns on the bronze items consist of cloud-and-thunder motifs and coiled dragon designs. Based on the structure of the tombs and the forms of burial objects, the complex dates back to the Eastern Zhou period or slightly earlier. It holds significant value for the study of the history and culture of the early Eastern Zhou period.
