Product History: Legend has it that during the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty, Empress Dowager Cixi, in her quest for an elixir of immortality, dispatched trusted aides to search the land far and wide. After great difficulty, they managed to find a small quantity of “Seng Zhu Xun” (a type of bamboo fungus). The so-called “Seng Zhu Xun” is the long-skirted bamboo fungus. Empress Dowager Cixi mobilized three thousand soldiers and spent nine months obtaining just 1.5 kilograms of long-skirted bamboo fungus—averaging only 0.55 grams per person—which illustrates just how rare and precious it was. Long-skirted bamboo fungus is not merely valuable because it is scarce.
Product Introduction: Bamboo fungus, also known as the “Snow Skirt Fairy,” “Flower of Mountain Delicacies,” “Queen of Fungi,” and “Vegetable Chicken,” ranks first among the “Four Treasures”—bamboo fungus, monkey head mushroom, shiitake mushroom, and tremella. Originally a wild plant, the long-skirted bamboo fungus grows under extremely demanding conditions, making it hard to cultivate and even harder to obtain. It has long been considered a rare and exotic delicacy, served exclusively to emperors as a tribute from southern China.
