　　In 2001, Ninghe County began trial demonstrations of Pacific whiteleg shrimp farming, which proved successful. Subsequently, shrimp farming developed rapidly. By 2003, the total farming area in the county had increased to 19,567 mu, with a total output of 1,730 tons.

The main farming models include: high-density intensive pond culture, extensive open-water farming, integrated fish and shrimp farming, integrated shrimp and crab farming, and membrane system farming technology.

The Pacific whiteleg shrimp produced here is mainly sold to regions such as Jilin and Heilongjiang in Northeast China, Beijing, Shanxi, and Inner Mongolia.

Pacific whiteleg shrimp has become one of the main aquaculture varieties in Ninghe County, making the county an advantageous production area for high-quality aquatic products in Tianjin — Pacific whiteleg shrimp.
