100% Lutai Chun Daqu original mash liquor adheres to traditional brewing methods, using pure grain solid-state fermentation with clear steaming and clear burning techniques. It is a high-end distilled spirit, selectively distilled to preserve the natural, authentic flavor of the liquor.
As a premium representation of TEDA Winery’s fine liquors, Lutai Chun original mash liquor carries a unique historical and cultural essence. It boasts a product style that is pure, soft, clean, refreshing, and well-balanced, representing the "original culture" of the winery’s traditional brewing craftsmanship spanning three hundred years.
The difference between original mash liquor and regular Baijiu: Original mash liquor is a brewed spirit without any blending process, representing the most perfect state of Baijiu. In contrast, regular Baijiu is made by blending base liquor with alcohol and adding food additives to enhance aroma and taste, which differs greatly from original mash liquor.
Lutai Chun original mash liquor can be used to create various health wines, tonic wines, and medicinal wines. Liquor is a “remedy that saves lives,” and its use in medicine stems from alcohol being an excellent solvent capable of dissolving many substances that are difficult or even impossible to dissolve in water. When used to steep medicinal wines, it sometimes yields better therapeutic effects than water-based herbal decoctions. Moreover, once medicinal wine enters the body and is absorbed, it quickly enters the bloodstream, enhancing its efficacy and thus serving therapeutic and nourishing purposes. For this reason, traditional Chinese medicine often prescribes patients to take medicine with wine or use it as a medicinal guide during decoction. The famous Eastern Han Dynasty physician Hua Tuo once used wine to administer a medication called "Mafeisan" as an anesthetic for successful surgical operations.
Lutai Chun original mash liquor is incomparable to regular Baijiu—it is less likely to cause a hangover and is gentler on the body. Moderate consumption can be beneficial to health.
Soaking dried peach blossoms, picked fresh in March, in Lutai Chun original mash liquor for 15 days produces peach blossom wine. Drinking this wine has skin-moisturizing and blood-circulating benefits, helping maintain youthful beauty. Pigeon-braised wine and longan wine also have beautifying effects. Alcohol provides a benign stimulation to the skin and can accelerate blood circulation. For healthier hair and skin, ancient Chinese practices included bathing in wine.
When cooking delicious dishes, using an appropriate amount of liquor can eliminate fishy odors and enhance aroma, making the dish sweet and tasty. Since the main component of liquor is ethanol, which has a low boiling point, it easily evaporates when heated, taking away the fishy or gamey smells from meats. Similarly, adding a bit of liquor when cooking with animal fats can also enhance the flavor.
As a consumer, how should you store Lutai Chun original mash liquor? Keep the bottle tightly sealed and store it in a cool place. Otherwise, in higher temperatures, the liquor may evaporate, develop wine insects, or form sediment, all of which can affect the taste.
The brewing water for Lutai Chun Liquor comes from the Yanshan Mountain range. After several rounds of mineralization, the water contains an appropriate amount of oxygen and is weakly alkaline natural mineral water—ideal for Baijiu production. The specific natural conditions give Lutai Chun Liquor its unique flavor. Over time, Lutai’s reputation for producing fine liquor has spread widely, and thus the liquor was named Lutai Chun.
The production area of Lutai Chun Liquor covers the administrative regions of Lutai Town, Zaojia Town, and Panzhuang Town in Ninghe County, Tianjin.
