Pearl S. Buck's Xiaozhan Rice
Xiaozhan Rice, renowned both domestically and internationally, originates from the high-quality japonica rice produced in the Xiaozhan area of Jinnan District, Tianjin. Its grains are large, plump, and semi-transparent without the powdery white belly. When steamed into dry rice, whether soft or firm, it does not stick together and resembles a bowl full of pearls, glossy and oily. Whether cooked thin or thick, the porridge has a rich broth that gives off a fragrant aroma. As you eat it, it feels delicate, smooth, and chewy. Not only is Xiaozhan Rice visually appealing and delicious, but it is also nutritionally rich, containing high levels of protein, lysine, starch, fat, and more. It is easy to absorb and digest, making it a wholesome, natural food.
