The Songhua River boasts an extremely rich variety of fish species, including famous ones such as the "Three Flowers and Five Roach" (the Three Flowers being Mandarin Fish, Crucian Carp, and Amur Ide; the Five Roach being Amur Dace, Amur Chub, Silver Crucian Carp, Spotted Steed, and Black Amur Bream), Whitefish, Crucian Carp, Pike, Catfish, Willow Gudgeon, and Common Carp, among others.
