The Weihe Black Fungus Market is a key project supported by Shangzhi City’s investment attraction efforts, and was constructed under the leadership of the People's Government of Weihe Town. The market is planned to cover an area of 50,000 square meters, with the first phase spanning 36,000 square meters, featuring a construction area of 12,300 square meters, including 192 storefronts. With an investment of 18 million yuan, it has become a major national center for the distribution, sales, exchange, exhibition, and price formation of edible fungi and specialty mountain products. Products from this market are sold to major cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai, as well as to countries and regions including the USA, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, and Macau. The market's sales network now covers over 20 provinces and cities nationwide.
In 2009, the second phase of the Weihe Black Fungus Market was put into use, with an investment of 12 million yuan and a total area of 16,000 square meters. It includes a standardized logistics and distribution center, a large parking lot, storage areas, distribution zones, and a comprehensive service and processing zone. This expansion increased the annual black fungus sales volume of the Shangzhi Weihe Black Fungus Market to 45,000 tons, with sales revenue reaching 1.8 billion yuan.
In 2010, a third phase of the market began construction with an investment of 10 million yuan, covering an area of 15,000 square meters and expected to have a construction area of 8,000 square meters. This phase will accelerate the robust development of Shangzhi’s edible fungus industry, processing enterprises, and other related industries, while also driving the growth of the edible fungus sector in surrounding cities and counties.
