Yichun Bracken Fern
Bracken fern, also known as dragon head vegetable, auspicious vegetable, or old bracken, is a specialty of Yichun District. It is tender, delicate, and soft, with a long-lasting aftertaste and high nutritional value. The stems and leaves are rich in carotene, vitamin C, protein, fat, carbohydrates, organic acids, and various vitamins—levels that are dozens of times higher than those found in commonly cultivated vegetables. Bracken fern also has significant medicinal properties, offering heat-clearing and detoxifying effects, as well as boosting intelligence and promoting well-being. Regular consumption can help treat conditions such as high blood pressure, dizziness, insomnia, internal injury bleeding, and chronic arthritis, and it also provides preventive benefits against measles and influenza.
With its delightful flavor, rich nutrition, and medicinal benefits, bracken fern is cherished both domestically and internationally, earning the reputation of "King of Mountain Delicacies."
