Jiayin is nationally renowned as the hometown of black fungus. Thanks to its temperate continental monsoon climate—with significant day-night temperature variations—the area's unique ecological environment is exceptionally well-suited for black fungus growth. The resulting fungus is of high quality, pollution-free, thick-fleshed, large-lobed, and delicious in taste, making it highly favored by consumers both at home and abroad. The county cultivates around 45 million bags of black fungus annually, producing 1,600–1,800 tons of dried fungus per year.
