Jiansanjiang is known as China’s “earliest farming region to greet the sun.” It lies in the heart of the Sanjiang Plain on the northern frontier of the country, adjacent to the two cities and two counties of Tongjiang, Fujin, Fuyuan, and Raohe. It is situated in the riverine area where the Heilongjiang, Songhua, and Ussuri rivers converge. Covering a total area of 12,400 square kilometers, it accounts for 22% of the entire farming area of Heilongjiang Province. The border along the Heilongjiang River stretches 230 kilometers, facing Russia across the water. The region features contiguous land plots, surrounded by three rivers and crisscrossed by seven waterways. With flat terrain, fertile soil, abundant resources, and well-developed both hard and soft infrastructure, it enjoys ample water supply and convenient transportation. It holds significant advantages and unique conditions for developing agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, sideline production, fisheries, industry, commerce, transport, construction, services, and border trade. It also possesses superior conditions and distinct advantages for developing modern enterprises, especially green industries. Due to its location in the easternmost part of the country and its reputation for producing high-quality green rice, it is honored as the “First Rice of the East” and the “Green Rice Capital of China.”
