Candle-Shaped Carrot
This variety is of high quality, rich in nutrients, and boasts an attractive color. It is a superior local variety from Heilongjiang Province and is cultivated in various regions of our city. The plant has moderate vigor, long petioles that are dark green in color, and a feathery compound leaf structure. The root is cylindrical, with slightly rounded shoulders and a blunt, round tip resembling a candle — hence the name “Candle-Shaped Carrot.” The fleshy root is approximately 16–18 cm in length and about 4 cm in diameter. The outer skin is orange-red, the core is fine, and the flesh is pale orange-red. This variety is highly disease-resistant, not heat-tolerant, prefers fertile and moist soil, and stores well.
