Raspberry belongs to the Rosaceae family and is a deciduous shrub native to Russia and Eastern Europe. It is named "raspberry" because its fruit resembles strawberries in shape, color, and taste but grows on a bush. Raspberry is a newly introduced fruit variety in China in recent years. It has a delicious flavor and is rich in nutrients. Due to its novel and unique fruit characteristics, it stands out among many fruits and also offers greater market competitiveness and development value. The raspberry plant is upright, growing 1.5–2 meters tall, with reddish-brown branches and dark green leaves. The fresh fruit is red, with individual berries weighing 6–12 grams, and up to nearly 20 grams. It matures and comes to market in mid-July. Planting can be done in either spring or autumn, and it enters peak production in the third or fourth year, yielding 2–3 kilograms per bush, with a maximum of 7 kilograms. The yield per mu (approximately 0.067 hectares) exceeds 1,200 kilograms. It has strong resistance to cold and viruses, requires no winter protection, and no pests or diseases have occurred since its introduction. Generally, it is cultivated through nursery seedlings and transplanting, planted at a row and plant spacing of 2.5×0.8 meters, with 330 holes per mu. To form a productive bush density more quickly, it is advisable to plant 2–3 seedlings per hole. Field management of raspberries is simple, similar to that of other common fruit trees. It grows vigorously, adapts widely, and has no special soil requirements—most soil types are suitable. However, soil high in organic matter, loose, and well-drained without waterlogging is ideal.
