Jingde Green Cane

　　“Jingde Green Cane” is a variety of sugarcane that is well-known both within and outside Anhui Province. The climate, water, soil, and sunlight conditions in Jingde County are ideal for sugarcane growth. Sugarcane has been cultivated here for over a thousand years, with historical records indicating that it was first planted in the early Eastern Han Dynasty. “Jingde Green Cane” features thick stems, growing 1.5 to 2 meters in length and 5 to 6 centimeters in diameter, broad leaves, cylindrical internodes, no bud grooves, prominent round buds, high yield, and a sugar content of around 11%. It is crisp, thin-skinned, juicy, and low in fiber, making it ideal for fresh consumption. When stored properly, “Jingde Green Cane” can be kept until May of the following year. (Huangshan)
