Shunyi Dangshan Crisp Pear
Dangshan Crisp Pear, also known as Dangshan Pear, originates from Dangshan County in Anhui Province, China. This pear variety is known for its large fruit size (average single fruit weight of 300 grams, with the largest fruits weighing nearly 2000 grams), excellent quality (crisp and tasty, juicy and sweet), wide adaptability (currently cultivated in North, Northeast, and Northwest China), and high yield potential (the variety begins to bear fruit in the third year after planting, reaches full production in five years, and can yield 2000–2500 kilograms per mu). It also has strong resistance (apart from disease, it exhibits strong tolerance to poor soil and harsh climatic conditions). In 1993, Shunyi District established a Dangshan Crisp Pear production base, which now covers 5000 acres with an annual output of 3 million kilograms. It is expected that by the year 2000, the production scale will reach 10 million kilograms per year.
