　　Pulandian City is home to China’s largest and most advanced malt production enterprise — Dalian COFCO Malt Co., Ltd. This mega-sized Sino-foreign joint venture was jointly established by China National Cereals, Oils & Foodstuffs Import and Export Corporation, Penley (Australia) Pty Ltd, Penley (Canada) Ltd, and COFCO (New York) Ltd. It covers a land area of 148,000 square meters, with a building area of 70,000 square meters, and has a total investment of 81 million US dollars and a registered capital of 12 million US dollars. The company has fully imported the world’s most advanced malt production equipment from Germany’s SIEGERT company from the 1990s, and its entire production process utilizes a specialized control system developed by Siemens in the 1990s, achieving an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons.
