Geographical Scope
The administrative regions under the jurisdiction of Donggang City, Liaoning Province, including Qianyang Town, Xinxing District, May Fourth Farm, Changshan Town, New City District, Beijingzi Town, Yiquan Town, Yiquan Town, Huangtukan Town, Longwangmiao Town, Gushan Town, Xinli Town, Xinnong Town, Hegou Town, Pusamiao Town, Huangtukan Farm, and Demonstration Farm, comprising a total of twenty-five towns, subdistrict offices, and state-owned farms. The region is geographically located between 39°–40°N latitude and 123°–124°E longitude, situated in the southeastern part of the Liaodong Peninsula, in the southern part of Dandong City. It borders the Yellow Sea to the south and the mouth of the Yalu River, neighbors Fengcheng, Anshan, and Xiuyan to the northwest, borders Dalian and Zhuanghe City to the west, and faces the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea across the Yalu River and the sea to the southeast, with the Yalu River estuary as the boundary.
Distinctive Quality
The finest Donggang rice comes from Liulin. Liulin rice is grown along the banks of the Liulin River, originally located at [Zhongliu] on the Liulin River. Its upstream source, the Tiejia Reservoir, is the sole drinking water supply for Donggang City, free from industrial pollution. The downstream area is fed by a mixture of Yalu River water and seawater, forming the nurturing base for Liulin rice. The rice produced here is snow-white, clear, fragrant, palatable, and has a delicate texture, making it one of the finest choices among Chinese rice varieties.
