Donggang Strawberries is a geographical indication certification trademark.

　　From being one of the first regions to introduce strawberries to now being China’s largest strawberry production base, Donggang has been cultivating strawberries for a century. The moist climate along the river and coast, coupled with its location in the optimal strawberry-growing zone at 40 degrees north latitude, provides an ideal growing environment for Donggang strawberries. Currently, the city’s strawberry cultivation area has reached 150,000 mu, with a total output of 300,000 tons and an output value of 1.05 billion yuan.

　　Donggang City applied to the state for the registration of the “Donggang Strawberries” geographical indication trademark and was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture as a national pollution-free agricultural product (strawberry) production base. The “Donggang Strawberries” brand was ranked among the top 100 regional brands in China by the Information Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, with a brand value exceeding 1.4 billion yuan. It has also been selected as one of the top ten agricultural brands in Liaoning by multiple organizations including the Provincial Academy of Social Sciences and Liaoning Farmers’ Daily.
