　　Originally from the remote western region of Liaoning Province. The central production area is in Jianchang County, and it is a small-sized Northeast –. It has a body shape that is small at both ends and large in the middle, resembling a purse. Its physique is delicate yet sturdy, with an entirely black coat that grows brownish underfur in winter. It has manes over 10 cm long on its back, is highly responsive, active, and fast-running. Adult weight is 69 kg. The carcass has a lean meat ratio of about 47%.

　　The “Pocket Pig” is a small variety of the Northeast –, which compared to other – varieties, offers advantages such as thin skin, tender meat, high intramuscular fat content, fine and dense muscle fibers, and a smooth and tender texture when cooked. There is a folk saying: “When one family eats pork, the aroma drifts ten miles to the neighbors.” It is a rare and excellent breed for ecological farming and the production of organic pork.
