Huludao Sea Crabs

There are many varieties of sea crabs found near Huludao, including bean-shaped box crabs, ghost head crabs, swimming crabs, and big red claw crabs. There are numerous ways to enjoy them: you can mash them into crab paste, a delicate dish that can be eaten alone or used to cook tofu for an incredibly delicious flavor; you can dry them into crab jerky, a premium topping for soups and stews; or you can fry them into crab sauce to eat with congee, greatly whetting the appetite. Of course, more often than not, they are simply boiled. In Huludao, crab meat paired with alcohol is considered a delicacy.
