Nanfen Rainbow Trout

　　Nanfen rainbow trout is a specialty of Nanfen District, Benxi, Liaoning. The district boasts abundant local produce and a diverse range of mineral resources. With a forest coverage rate of 72.4% and over 2.1 million cubic meters of timber reserves, it is also home to more than 60 species of national first- to third-class protected animals, over 1,600 plant species, more than 100 types of medicinal herbs, and around 50 varieties of wild mountain vegetables. The area’s unique cold-water resources nurture the highly nutritious and prized rainbow trout. The Sishanling Township Rainbow Trout Farm is the largest cold-water fish farming base in the province.
