Huanren Kiwifruit
Huanren kiwifruit is a Geographical Indication Certification trademark.
Huanren kiwifruit is a specialty of Huanren Manchu Autonomous County, Benxi City, Liaoning Province. Huanren kiwifruit has been awarded a National Geographical Indication Certification trademark.
The Huanren area produces 1,000 tons of kiwifruit annually. Kiwifruit is a perennial vine plant that contains 26 amino acids as well as minerals and trace elements essential to the human body. Known to the Chinese as the “King of Fruits” and the “King of Vitamin C,” this project uses natural fresh kiwifruit as raw material to produce unique and healthy juice drinks, jams, and fruit powders, allowing consumers to enjoy them year-round.
The “Huanyou No. 1” hardy kiwifruit is an outstanding individual plant discovered in Chi Dexiang’s hardy kiwifruit orchard in Sandaohe Village, Huanren Town, Huanren County. It passed expert evaluation organized by the Liaoning Provincial Non-Staple Crop Variety Registration Office on September 15, 2007. This variety is monoecious, with fruits that are nearly oblate in shape, averaging 22g per fruit, with the largest reaching 36.7g. This variety is free from pests and diseases, and has a late maturation period—ripening in mid to late September in the Huanren area, thus avoiding the market period of wild hardy kiwifruit. The fruit has a long storage life and can be naturally stored for over 60 days after harvest.
In 2013, the “Huanren Kiwifruit” application submitted by the Huanren Manchu Autonomous County Agricultural and Sideline Products Industry Market Association was approved and registered as a China National Geographical Indication Certification trademark by the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, with the trademark registration number: 12432101.
