Longjiayuan Gaifruit Persimmon
The Longjiayuan Gaifruit Persimmon originates from Longjiayuan Village in Miaofengshan Town. This variety is known for its large fruit size (average single fruit weight of 234 grams, with the largest reaching up to 450 grams), beautiful shape, orange-red color, thin and delicate skin, clear flesh, and sweet taste. It is considered an exceptionally high-quality clear-flesh persimmon in the Beijing area. Persimmons are rich in nutrients, with protein and vitamin C levels three times that of apples and five times that of pears. In addition, the persimmon fruit can also be used medicinally, primarily for clearing heat, moistening the lungs, resolving phlegm, and relieving coughs. It is mainly used to treat conditions such as coughing and mouth ulcers.
Currently, 4,500 acres of this Gaifruit Persimmon variety are cultivated in the region, mainly distributed in Miaofengshan Town and Tanzhesi Town. The fruit ripens in late October.
