The Changtu Huo Goose, locally called the "pockmarked-eye goose," comes from Changtu County in Liaoning Province. It is named for the notch on its upper eyelid. Suitable for free-range farming, it withstands heat in summer and cold in winter, making it easy to raise. The hens lay eggs, the cocks provide meat, the feathers can be processed into down products, the droppings can fertilize fields, and the liver can be used medicinally.
