In the southwest of Yangfang Town, Changping District, Beijing, lies a production base for Jingbai Pears. Nestled against Zhubi Mountain to the west and adjacent to the Miyun Reservoir Diversion Channel to the east, this area enjoys a warm foothill climate typical of mountain-front regions—ideal for fruit cultivation. The Jingbai Pears of Baihujian have a long history, with over 300 years of heritage passed down through generations and confirmed by experts. These pears are known for their delicate texture and fine cell structure, high sugar content, and uniquely fragrant aroma after late ripening. In contrast, white pears from surrounding provinces tend to be rough-skinned, larger in size, high in moisture, durable for storage and transport, but lack distinctive flavor. Through over a decade of effort, the Jingbai Pear production base, under the guidance of professional technicians, has developed a sophisticated and unique management system that has significantly improved fruit quality. In the autumn of 1998, the pears won a gold medal at the National Agricultural Products Expo held at the Beijing Agricultural Exhibition Center and have consistently ranked first in multiple municipal fruit quality evaluations.
